Fluid Yoga is a dynamic vinyasa flow. Nyasa denotes “to place” and vi denotes “in a special way.” Fluid Yoga places attention in a mindful way on breath and movement. It incorporates organic and intuitive flows while emphasizing continual movement throughout the mindful practice to build endurance, flexibility, strength and a clear mind.Fluid will both challenge and evolve your practice if you come with an open mind and mindful approach.
Using the classical elements as inspiration, we become grounded and refine our balance with the earth, explore flowing movement and grace in the manner of water, ignite fire within our bodies through core strengthening and detoxification, and empower the air flowing within us through breath control and mind training. All classes end with a guided savasana, to embrace our space element and rejuvenate the spirit. The ultimate goal is for students to leave class feeling peaceful, powerful and full of bliss.
Geared for guys, open to all. Broga® , merges functional fitness and strong yoga. Poses are accessible and safe with a strong emphasis on building strength into postures with focus on activating and utilizing muscles of the core.
This class is all levels and will compliment any existing training routine. This class also follows foundations of a traditional Vinyasa yoga style with continuous movement and beginning with breath-work, ending with a guided svasana (meditation.) Sammie teaches this class to some pretty awesome playlists creating the perfect Broga vibe.
Yoga is traditionally practiced barefoot, socks are okay-no shoes.
Imagine stretching on your yoga mat in a soft candle-lit setting, with the sounds of piano and acoustic covers as they resonate through your ears, you can smell oils and incense with hints of lavender and patchouli... and you begin to connect completely to your mat as you find the relaxing touch of massage, melting your shoulders down your back...and you find yourself right where you are - in a total sensory experience.
Yoga meets massage in this amazing class. First synthesized by Boston based Yoga-ista; Betty Riaz, Spa has grown into one of the most sought out restorative yoga classes in the greater-Boston area. Science tells us that human touch creates and instant mind-body connection and so by adding this into class, the practitioner may find themselves completely in the moment as all external thoughts dissolve. Sammie loves teaching this class and has brought on-board, Licensed Massage Therapist; Vincent Manuto to bring the massage and touch element into class. Alongside Vince, Sammie uses Thai massage techniques to assist as she teaches this flow. The vibe is bliss! Spa begins with a Pranayama (breath work) and ends with a guided meditation (svasana.)
